Episode 35 – Are Our Thoughts Really Energy?

Sometimes it’s difficult to make changes in your life because we’re being led by subconscious programming. If you’re led by old subconscious programming, you often don’t realize the thoughts that you’re having that could be sabotaging your health and wellness. Essentially some of the most important changes we can make to our lives involve changing our daily habits. But doing this involves a lot of re-wiring of old ways of being. In order to take charge of your stress and physical well-being now, you need to take charge of your thoughts. But are our thoughts really energy?

A few nights ago, I was enjoying a good read from Napoleon Hill’s Landmark Bestseller Think and Grow Rich. On page 233, he states “thoughts are truly things, for the reason that every material thing begins in the form of thought-energy”.

Here’s the reality, you’ve got years of thoughts, memories, values& beliefsall  intertwined into major neuronal connections.  A few nights ago, I was enjoying a good read from Napoleon Hill’s Landmark Bestseller-Think and Grow Rich.On page 233, he states “thoughts are truly things, for the reason that every material thing begins in the form of thought-energy”.

On page 233, of Napoleon Hill’s Think & Grow Rich, he states “thoughts are truly things, for the reason that every material thing begins in the form of thought-energy”.

Basically, there’s a theory of dualism that the brain is viewed as a receptor where creative ideas come from an outside source such as Universal Intelligence. There’s a consciousness which observes everything (our thoughts, feelings and actions) and transforms this into physical form. The brain as a receptor is a philosophy that says the way you think creates your life. But where do these thoughts come from?

And even if you don’t know where the thoughts come from, you need to change the way you repeatedly think each day, otherwise you’re at risk of  creating the same results (just think of the clients that come through your health practice that are repeatedly saying the same things to you over and over).

Essentially, if you’re always thinking in the past, because your brain fires an existing circuit, your past becomes your future.

Do you want the same future that you lived in the past?

Or, do you want to create something different? If you do want a new reality…the one where you’re feeling strong, healthy, well-rested, balanced, sexy, and happy, then you need to fire new circuits.

These new circuits in the brain are what’s going to create a new mental signature – or a new reality.

How on do we create a new reality?

In order for anyone to change their current reality and take control over what they really want out of life, you need to become aware of your thoughts. You need to become aware of your mind-power!

The reason you want to become more mindful of what you’re thinking about is because the body will keep re-forcing the same feelings otherwise.

By quantum law you create more of the past.

In essence, our thoughts hold an energy in the body, and in my reiki practice I help my clients shift their energy – and sometimes the best way to do that is to help them shift how they’re thinking. 

In my Reiki Healing Practice, I’ve experienced this thought energy directly, with my hands. If you’re a nurse, you might have been taught a different version of energy work such as Therapeutic Touch. 

WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique that is used to relieve stress, improve relaxation and promote healing. It’s administered by laying hands over a person’s body, and is based on the idea that a universal “life force energy” flows through us all, and this is the essence of what causes us to be alive. Rei means “higher power” and Ki means “life force energy”. Reiki is “spiritually guided life force energy”.

When I’m giving a reiki treatment, and I’m “tapped-in” to one’s life force energy field, and ask a person to think a certain thought (using guided visualization), meant to empower and invoke a different reality than the one in which they’re currently living, the conscious/subconscious mind responds.

That response comes from either increasing the flow of that thought energy, or shuts it off completely.

Suddenly, I’ve either lost that person’s energy, or it intensifies. But the point is, I can feel the energy of the thought.

THE MOMENT OF HEALING

It is within this moment when my clients have the opportunity to experience immense healing.  I clarify the information I’m perceiving, and thus relate their thought patterns back to them.

If my client is able to detect where their thoughts/emotions have gone, on a conscious level, I can help him/her influence a different train of thought, and in turn facilitate a breakthrough on acquiring the ability to further influence their subconscious mind.

Here’s a example. I asked a client to think of themselves being a beam of light, radiating, and very powerful. I was connected to their energy and suddenly it was gone. I asked him if he was having a hard time envisioning himself being tall and powerful and he said “I can’t see it”. And that explained why I lost touch with that energy.

Most of us know that emotions or feelings rule us, as humans.

Here’s the reality, you’ve got years of thoughts, memories, values & beliefs all intertwined into major neuronal connections. 

So let’s experiment a little bit here: I want you to think of a positive thought/emotion.

Perhaps think of your first memorable birthday…and later-on you graduated from an important academic pursuit.

Or…think about your life partner and your honeymoon, if you’re married, or the thought of having a honeymoon one day.

Pay attention to the feelings invoked in your body.

What’s your face doing right now as you think of these things?

Are you smiling? Think of what you do when see a cute little puppy on the street. That ‘thought’ is an energy.

THE EMOTIONS

I want you to pay very close attention to where your physical energy goes. Are you smiling? Are you joyful? And do you want more of this infectious energy?

Under the influence of this emotional state, are you more apt to see yourself accomplish a goal you desire? Are you more apt to text your partner/spouse a cute little “Miss U” message?

Likewise, for the undesirable thoughts, go to the place of a bad break-up, or when someone you love was badly injured, or the experience of rage from someone in this morning’s commute.

What happens to your physical and emotional state here?

Are you more apt to see yourself lose that extra 5 pounds, you’ve been dying to lose by Christmas? Likely, you’re reaching for foods that will add another 5 pounds (don’t do it!!).

And you’re not in a high vibration state of gratitude. However, you do have the power to go there and be mindful of what you’re thinking (no matter how busy you are!) so you can switch to being grateful ….for not sleeping next to that raging person. Right?

Let’s now back-up to the happy place PLEASE. Let’s go back to my incredible healing Reiki Practice, where I help people heal themselves.

And let me take you back to what I started talking about, Napoleon Hill and the reason for this post.

He states, “the subconscious mind will not remain idle! If you fail to plant desires in your subconscious mind, it will feed upon the thoughts that reach it as a result of your neglect”. My healing sessions do just that! I plant the desires by asking you to go to those places you’ve been, and wish to return to again someday. Then, we clear what’s in the way.

AUTO-PILOT

At present, I think it’s fair to say that we live day-to-day on “auto-pilot”. This auto-pilot takes us all away from being in a Mindful place.

Without paying close attention to just how powerful our thoughts can be, one could be living by subconscious thought impulses alone. What you think about is what you attract more of.

This can lead you down an unknown and unhappy path – even if it’s for a brief second.
