It was at the end of my 1st term in Chiropractic College after I left my cozy full-time job as a Health Promoter. I stayed on casual at the hospital to "pay the bills" while in school. 

And despite feeling like I was a quasi “super hero"… one which people always seemed impressed by, I was totally unfocused, and made an error on a night shift. I lacked clinical judgement from fatigue. 

And my life as I knew it, as a child/adolescent medicine nurse, was over.

Even though I DID get focused, and found a new nursing position in Labor & Delivery, I still had to give-up my studies in Chiropractic and felt so ashamed and disempowered. 

Discredited as a health practitioner, being judged by my peers in a professional clinical program, then disappearing from it all from a severe car crash a few months into my new job, I was faced with a big  “WTF”.

But the most painful part wasn’t the fact that I was now lying in a critical care bed with casts on all limbs, and a fractured skull, totally disconnected from my entire reality…

It wasn't that my life was never going to be the same again (or at least as I knew it) serving as a nurse &/or a chiropractor, but it was a clear-cut reminder of my lack of ability to slow down.

It was a true Divine wake-up call that I was not 'paying attention'.

But regardless...

I’m GRATEFUL for the lessons learned from that entire decade.
